Carrell-Krusen Symposium

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Dallas, Texas

The Carrell-Krusen Symposium was established in 1977 by Dr Jay Cook, who was the Director of Pediatric Neurology at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children until 1989. The Symposium was named after Dr Brandon Carrell, son of the founder of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, and Dr Edward Krusen, the first Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinical Director for the city of Dallas. In 1990, Dr Susan Iannaccone became the Symposium Director, and since then, the focus of the meeting has been the treatment of neuromuscular disease, with an emphasis reflecting the changes in clinical practice. The invited Carrell-Krusen Visiting Professors are world renowned for their work in neuromuscular disease.
