Faculty of Medical Welfare, Aichi Shukutoku University, Aichi, Japan This article reports the results of a study on the relationship between cord blood levels of erythropoietin and periventricular leukomalacia. Cord blood was obtained from 19 infants with gestational age between 27 and 32 weeks. Cystic periventricular leukomalacia was seen in 4 of them. Erythropoietin levels were not different between those with and those without periventricular leukomalacia.
